PASSOVER AND THE BLOOD?
Sunday, April 16, 2017

It's Easter and for many people it is time to dust off the old church suit and tie or Sunday's best dress. But many folks are ignorant of Passover which is a Jewish thing and why the church makes such a grand hoopla over it. Ok so let's go. The story of " The Passover" is not found in the new testament it is found of all places in the old testament. We can find it the book of Exodus. In the interest of time let's just skip to verse 12 : For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments-- I am the LORD. Ok so in a nutshell Father God was  bringing "judgment" on the Egyptians and by the way He did it in a way that was an attack of everything the Egyptians Worshiped and depended on for their economy.  Exodus 12 speaks of the last terrible judgment. He was about to take to life of everything and everyone's First born! In order to avoid this terrible act the Jewish slaves were instructed to kill  a prefect lamb and place some  blood of this sacrificed lamb  above the door of their dwelling. And when the "Angel of death" saw it He would " Passover" that house hold.
Exodus 12 :13 13The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.… The connection is Jesus is the this modern sacrificed lamb and simply put when His blood is over your "door post" God's judgment will "Passover" you.. Hence to the term " covered in the blood"..
