For those of us, that attend a religious service of any kind. There is one thing all faiths share whether it's Christian or Muslim or whatever. This concept/ lie is often repeated. You know the quote "if you repeat a lie often enough people will start to believe it".
And that is just what has happened! This lie has been repeated so often it is now not questioned in our religious teachings .
This Lie came from the mouth of the "Serpent" in the garden of Eden. We like Eve and Adam want so much to believe it that we have twisted scripture to hold on to it. " You shall not surely die."
We have bought into the lie that we are immortals and when we die we will either be rewarded in heaven or tortured in hell. But there is just one little tiny problem with this view. You can't find this teaching anyway in the Bible. Not in the old or new testaments.
From the very beginning, the judgement  handed down to man at the fall was and is death! The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely. But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." Man is one being. We also have new age teaching telling us that we don't really die. We just transition for one state to the next. Why is it that we always see books and interviews with people that have " died" and "came back" ? But what about all the other folks that have "died and came back" and saw nothing? They are not told to write any books or do any interviews. Why? Cause this doesn't sell. This falsehood has cemented it hold in the church and many other faiths. Looking at the way in which Jesus spoke of the dead is a good teller of how God sees this. He would often use words like sleep. ""Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go, so that I may awaken him out of sleep." The disciples thought he meant that Lazarus was just simply sleeping. But Jesus had to speak to them in human terms and said "He is dead". John 11:11. One other example is one synagogue official desperate to save his daughter came to Jesus and asked for help saying to Jesus.  ""My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live." Now, what is interesting here is what Jesus says and does when at the officials house. "When Jesus came into the official's house and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder, He said, "Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep." And they began laughing at Him.… Matthew 9:23-24. Why were they laughing? Clearly they knew when someone was indeed dead. Yet here is Jesus chasing them out saying she is just asleep! My thoughts on this are we do die a physical death. The life force that leaves this dead body
just goes into a kind of sleep. For when we are in deep sleep we know nothing! Time means nothing! God's judgment is and has always been "The soul that sins, it shall die"! The Bible tells us of that final day of judgement at the world's end. Revelation 20:11-15  Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. This is that judgement handed down so many years ago in the garden of Eden. "For in the day that you eat from it, you will surely die." Genesis 2:17.
Until that great and sad day the dead sleep!
